Looking to become a Referee?

Colo Cougar SFC games are officiated by
Nepean Referees Group (NRG)

Only competition teams (U12+) are assigned referees and higher divisions will take precedence when there is a shortage of officials. When there is no official assigned to your game, both teams should attempt to find a volunteer. This volunteer referee, although may be associated with one club, may not coach while on the field and should remain neutral in their decisions. The host club should provide whistles, paper and pen and red/yellow cards to volunteer referees.

We ask that you treat your referees – official or volunteer – with respect and follow the official protocol if you have any issues by contacting your club’s committee.

Please note when contacting NRG:
General questions relating to the laws of the game from parents, coaches and players will not be accepted.

All laws of the game questions from registered coaches and players must be done through contacting the Nepean Football Association and in turn your request will be forwarded to our branch coach or referees manager.

If using the provided mobile number to make contact, it is best to send a text with your name and question. Otherwise, use the contact form on NRG’s website.

Drop us a line

Nepean Referees Group welcome and embrace new Referees and can accept referees from the age of 13. They will be placed on junior matches and have important roles such as Assistant Refereeing. Some even get the chance to be an Assistant Referee on all age matches.

Colo Cougars are taking expressions of interest to become club referees, meaning you only officiate games at Cougar Park. You will still be required to undergo official training. To enquire or express interest, fill out the contact form on our contact page or email admin@colosoccer.com.au.
